筆者が初めてこの曲を聴いたのは小学生の時。いつ聴いても心ウキウキしてきますね。この頃のABBAのメンバーの中ではビヨルンが知名度が一番あり、男性陣と女性陣の掛け合いで曲が進行していきますね。恐らく、ビートルズ全盛時1960年代のガールズPOPSにかなり影響を受けているようですね。とてもキューとで、それでいてセクシーな楽曲。歌詞を紐解くとかなりＨなサウンドエフェクトが随所に見られます。全体的にとてもオチャメなセンスの光る仕上がりです。「ハニー、ハニー」は「恋のウォータールー」に続くシングルとして発売され、ドイツで2位、オーストリアとスイスで4位、フィンランドで11位、ベルギーで12位、オランダとニュージーランドで16位、アメリカで27位、オーストラリアで30位を記録しています。UKでは発売元のエピック・レコードが「リング・リング」のリミックス・バージョンをシングルに選んだ為にこの「ハニー、ハニー」はシングル・カットされませんでした。皮肉にも男女デュオの「スウィート・ドリームス」がカバー・バージョンをリリースし、全英チャートで10位をマークしています。でもなんたって、ABBA初期の名作であることはかわりませんよね。
